Requirements For Submitted Photographs and Text

The following instructions and guidelines are for Planetcast clients who wish to prepare their own photographs and text for web sites under development. We welcome such initiative, as long as these guidelines are followed closely.

The final submitted text must be directly importable without further editing; otherwise, extra development charges may be levied. Photographs must be edited for selection, reduced in resolution, but otherwise remain unchanged, pending our cropping and final adjustments for web optimization. Full details below.

1 / REQUIREMENTS FOR WEB SITE PHOTOGRAPHS:

» JPEG format only, with 72-96 dpi resolution.
» No adjustments for contrast, brightness or color balance.
» Between 400-500 pixels wide (at any height), uncropped.
» Final photo selection only - do not send out-takes.
» Send by FTP to: ftp.planetcast.net (read the instructions first, then link to the incoming directory).
» Alternatively, burn a CD-ROM and send by courier; e-mail us for delivery details.
» Planetcast will complete the final sizing, cropping, adjustments and customization of photographs for publishing on the web.

2 / REQUIREMENTS FOR WEB SITE TEXT:

» Plain text e-mail format or RTF format only.
» Break out each web page as a separate file, with HEADLINE, SUB-HEADLINE, and BODY components clearly indicated within.
» Clearly indicate insertion points of photographs, with CAPTIONS broken out separately.
» Indicate page TITLE.
» Indictate page KEYWORDS and DESCRIPTION for file meta tags.
» Label files clearly to indicate the site structure. Submit a web site page hierarchy map if further clarity is needed.
» Send by e-mail to: support@planetcast.com.
» If you are submitting text on behalf of our client, or if you are acting as a sub-contractor for text and editing, Planetcast will require signed approvals and/or e-mail acknowledgement, received directly from the client, indicating that your submitted material is in final approved form.
» Planetcast can provide you with referrals to excellent writers and accomplished editors, if you need writing or editing assistance.

3 / RECOMMENDED STEPS PRIOR TO TEXT SUBMISSION:

» Search optimize text. Edit for strong keyword density in body and headlines.
» Spell-check and validate all grammar. Submitted text will be published on your web site 'as is'.
» Indictate page KEYWORDS and DESCRIPTION for the site home page. These will be used for search engine indexing.
» Indicate the author's name and contact information, in case we need to make follow-up inquiries.
