Streaming Video File Size Calculator

Welcome to Planetcast's streaming video file size calculator. This online tool assists our clients to preview how much video server storage will be needed for their streaming video/audio media files (in either Windows Media or Real formats), encoded at various data rates.

MULTIPLE BITE RATE CALCULATIONS:
Simply add up the file size of each encoding rate you wish to include in your multi-bite rate files. This will give you the final total file size of your multi-bite rate encoded file.

For muti-rate files targeted at commercial audiences, Planetcast normally recommends that video be encoded at four embedded rates: 34, 80, 125 and 225 kbps. If consumer audiences are targeted, you might also include the lowest rate, 20 kbps, even though image quality at that rate is poor.

Please contact Planetcast's support desk if you need assistance using this video file size calculator.
